Eleven healthy male participants underwent a within-subject repeated-measures protocol comprising 3 blocks with polysomnographic monitoring from 11:00 PM to 07:00 AM separated by one week. Either 10 mg escitalopram (ESC), 75 mg amitryptilin (AMI) or placebo (PLA) were orally administered at 09:00 PM. Blood samples were collected between 7:00 and 7:30 AM shortly after awakening and tested for ghrelin, leptin, prolactin and cortisol serum levels.
